The McCarty Student Center is the base point for the University Church of Christ’s campus mission work. As a ministry of the University Church of Christ (San Marcos), we strive to be an invested community of believers and seekers.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers |  Acts 2:42

As the Bobcats for Christ, we do not just endeavor to wear the name Christ, but to live the Christian life. The McCarty Student Center affords us the ability to spend unrivaled amounts of time training the next generation of church leaders. Through annual Mission trips, regular acts of service, leadership opportunities, student adoption programs, and mentoring initiatives we create a path forward for young Christians to grow and become more invested in their faith and the Lord’s Kingdom.

And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts |  Acts 2:46

The community we have as Christians encourages and corrects and empowers us to do great works for the kingdom. The Bobcats for Christ is a group of Christians who seek to be together as they turn the world upside down. Far too many Christians fall away in college because they do not find a church family, a community to draw strength from. Our mission is to never let that happen again to a soul who walks on the the campus of Texas State.

So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls | Acts 2:41

Each week we have multiple opportunities for Bible studies both at the McCarty student Center and the University Church of Christ building. We use these times to grow collectively in our knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. Additionally, we have regular ongoing personal Bible studies occurring inside the McCarty Student Center. Many lost and wandering souls have discovered the truth of God’s word through the guided instruction of past campus directors and evangelists.

Praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved |  Acts 2:47

Our PRIMARY focus as the Bobcats for Christ is to fulfill the Great Commission and share the gospel with fellow students on campus As of 2019, Texas State has nearly 40,000 students with close to 7,000 living on campus and many thousands more within walking distance of the McCarty Student Center. The fields are white for harvest, and we have answered the call to reach those lost souls.
